Take the State Exam
Once you complete the 63-hour Course I and pass the end-of-course examination, you can apply for your Florida Real Estate Salesperson license through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
Apply online at myfloridalicense.com. As part of the application you will need to submit your fingerprints through a DBPR-approved vendor — this can be done before or after you submit your application. Once your application is approved, Pearson VUE will contact you by email with instructions to schedule your state exam at a testing center near you. DBPR approval typically takes 10 to 30 days. You must pass the Florida Real Estate Salesperson state exam with a score of 75 or higher out of 100.
Find a Sponsoring Broker
You can receive your Florida sales associate license without a broker — it will simply be issued as inactive. But an inactive license means you cannot legally perform any activity that requires a real estate license. The whole reason you got a license is so you could work as a real estate agent, right?
If you haven't already found a Florida real estate broker to register with, now's the time to start lining up interviews. Once you've chosen a broker, they will register you with DBPR and your license will become active.
