Everything to get exam-ready.
Maximum support, post-license ready.
Premier Courses is a FREC-approved provider (School ID #ZH1003192). Required coursework is delivered online through our learning platform; enrollment and coursework are completed in your online student portal. The Florida state licensing exam is registered separately.
Once you've completed the required pre-licensing education you can apply for your licensing exam! The application process includes submitting your application to the Florida DBPR, paying the fees, and getting your electronic fingerprints taken for the background check! Don't worry, Premier Courses can help you navigate the paperwork!
This is important! You MUST pass the state exam within 2 years of completing your pre-licensing course, or the course expires and you’ll have to take it again!
The state exam is administered by Pearson VUE. To pass the test you'll need a score of 75% or better! But don't worry, you're going to ace it!
Once you pass the test you're officially a real estate sales associate! Your license is issued in inactive status until you affiliate with a licensed Florida broker — so pick a brokerage that matches your needs and expectations, activate your license, and start building your business.
Still unsure? Our support team answers Monday–Friday, 10am–4pm PST.
Yes! You can absolutely get your Florida real estate license online. Online real estate classes let you finish your pre-licensing education on your own schedule, from any device.
They can be just as effective as in-person classes (or, for some learners, even more effective) and are super convenient for people with responsibilities like work or childcare.
The only parts of the licensing process that must be done in person are fingerprinting and taking the state real estate exam at a Pearson VUE test center.
To qualify for a Florida real estate sales associate license, applicants must meet the requirements established by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
Applicants must:
All applicants must also submit electronic fingerprints for a background check. A criminal history doesn't automatically disqualify you — the DBPR reviews each application case by case — but failure to disclose a conviction can result in denial of a license.
You do not need to be a Florida resident or a U.S. citizen to get a Florida real estate license.
Once you've completed the 63-hour pre-license course and passed the end-of-course exam, you can apply for your license with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) online at www.myfloridalicense.com.
Before you apply, have your electronic fingerprints taken through an approved vendor — the DBPR needs them on file to process your application. Once your application is approved, you'll receive authorization to schedule your state exam with Pearson VUE, Florida's testing provider. You can schedule online or by phone and choose a test center near you.
The Florida sales associate exam has 100 multiple choice questions, you'll have 3.5 hours to complete it, and you need a score of 75 or higher to pass. The exam fee is $36.75 per attempt.
The biggest variable in determining the cost of a Florida real estate license is which real estate school you choose. In Florida, a pre-license course can cost anywhere from around $100 to $500 depending on the provider.
There are also fees associated with the licensing process itself: a $62.75 license application fee paid to the DBPR, a $36.75 exam fee each time you take the state exam, and a fingerprinting fee that typically runs $50 to $80 depending on the vendor.
Adding it all up, you should expect to pay roughly $150 to $180 in state and vendor fees on top of the cost of your course.
Yes! Every Premier Courses pre licensing package includes exam prep. You'll get an interactive course with quizzes and knowledge checks throughout, plus review questions and study tools to get you ready for the Florida state exam.
Yes, Premier Courses' 63-hour online Sales Associate Pre-License course is approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (School ID #ZH1003192). That means our course fulfills all of your Florida real estate pre-licensing education requirements.
All applicants are required to pass the course and the end-of-course final exam before they can sit for the Florida real estate exam.
You can complete your final exam online in the comfort of your own home. You'll need a desktop computer or laptop and a current government-issued photo ID to verify your identity before the exam begins.
Take the State Exam
Once you complete the 63-hour course, apply for your license with the DBPR at www.myfloridalicense.com, submit your electronic fingerprints, and — once your application is approved — schedule your state exam with Pearson VUE. Bring a current government-issued photo ID with you on exam day; you need a score of 75 or higher to pass.
Find a Sponsoring Broker
When you pass the state exam, your Florida license is issued in an inactive status. To actually work as a real estate sales associate — and get paid for it — you must activate your license under a licensed Florida broker.
If you haven't already found a broker to work with, now's the time to start lining up interviews so you can activate your license and start your new career.
Premier Courses is approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) to provide the 63-hour Sales Associate Pre-License course required for all prospective Florida real estate sales associates. Premier Courses' school ID is ZH1003192.
The 63-hour course covers real estate principles, Florida license law, and real estate practice, and concludes with the FREC-required end-of-course exam.
Once you've completed the course and passed the final exam, you'll receive your certificate of completion and be ready to apply for the Florida real estate exam. Note that your course completion is valid for two years — you must pass the state exam within two years of completing the course.
The end-of-course final exam has 100 multiple choice questions. Per Florida Real Estate Commission rules, you must score 70% or higher to pass.
If you fail the final exam, FREC requires you to wait at least 30 days from the date of the original exam before retesting. You may retest a maximum of one time within one year of the original exam, and you'll be given a different form of the exam. If you fail the second attempt (or more than a year passes), you'll need to retake the course before testing again.
The course must be completed within six months of registration. If you are unable to complete the course within the six month period, Premier Courses offers extensions for an additional fee.
Before taking your end-of-course final exam, you'll be asked to verify your identity with a current government-issued photo identification, such as:
The name on your identification must match the name on your course registration.
When you complete the course and pass the final exam, you'll receive a certificate of completion and your course completion is reported electronically to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
You can verify your education record at any time through your DBPR online account at www.myfloridalicense.com.
This course is approved for pre-license education credit by the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). However, this approval does not constitute an endorsement of the views or opinions which are expressed by the course sponsor, instructors, authors, or lecturers.
