This is important! You MUST pass the state exam within 2 years of completing your pre-licensing course, or the course expires and you’ll have to take it again!
The state exam is administered by Pearson VUE. To pass the test you'll need a score of 75% or better! But don't worry, you're going to ace it!
Once you pass the test you're officially a real estate sales associate! Your license is issued in inactive status until you affiliate with a licensed Florida broker — so pick a brokerage that matches your needs and expectations, activate your license, and start building your business.

After your first license renewal (when post-licensing is complete), Florida requires every sales associate to complete 14 hours of FREC-approved continuing education during each two-year renewal cycle.
The 14 hours consist of:
Your CE must be completed before your license expiration date — March 31 or September 30, every two years, depending on your renewal cycle. Your exact date is printed on your license and shown in your DBPR account at www.myfloridalicense.com.
Don't wait until the last minute — leave yourself time to finish the course and for your completion to be reported to the DBPR before you renew.
If you don't complete your CE and renew on time, your Florida sales associate license becomes involuntarily inactive. While inactive, you can't legally perform any real estate services that require a license.
Reactivating gets harder the longer you wait: after more than 12 months inactive, you'll need to complete a 28-hour reactivation course instead of the standard 14 hours. And if the license stays inactive for more than two years, it becomes null and void.

Yes — an attorney who is an active member in good standing of The Florida Bar is exempt from the 14-hour continuing education requirement.

When you complete the course and pass the final exam, you'll receive a certificate of completion and your course completion is reported electronically to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR).
